Alaskan Brewing company, a Cook Book Cover and a Super Bowl ad, have a look…

A photo shoot for The Alaskan Brewing Company, used on a beer cook book and according to Sharon, a Super Bowl Ad!

Ahhh, beer. Not just any beer, but one of our favorites: Alaskan Brewing Company’s famous Amber blend. And this is where the story gets interesting…

We were asked to teach a food class at our local college. During “spirits” week we chose to demonstrate using this excellent brand how to frost a bottle and glass. Plenty of this beer can be found in Vegas, but we thought that getting the real deal glasses would make the students photos more portfolio ready. So, the thought crossed our minds to reach out to the brewery to see if they had any glasses for sale locally. They didn't, but marketing was intrigued, and within days many cases of beer and glasses arrived via Fed-X. Wow! what an unexpected and happy surprise!

On shoot day we created a beautiful demonstration set with the Amber blend. The students, all working in teams, did impressive sets with their beer, which we sent to the nice folks in marketing for feedback. Not only did the students get their images published on Alaskan Brewing Company’s social media, but our studio was hired to do the full line up of every beer they brewed. The week after those crates of beer arrived, we had a great new client.

The shot you see on our website was our creation to promote what I remember as a Super Bowl push. Greg remembers it as a cookbook. What we both agree on was we were in a beautiful mountain cabin with some well chosen props, made a beautiful picture for our new client, and finished the day with a few ice cold beers in front of a roaring fire before calling out the words, “its a wrap”. Now that’s what I call serendipity.

"Sharon Sampsel & Greg Preston graduated from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and had the good luck to pick Las Vegas as the up and coming place in which to open their studio. Riding the wave in as Las Vegas came into its own in the last 30 years has been a blast for these two partners. Although they concentrate mostly on Resort and Casino work, Being in a town like Las Vegas gives them the opportunity to shoot just about everything, which is fine with them."
